Default Plague City: SARS in Toronto

In the spring of 2003, Canada's most populated city struggled desperately to control a mysterious and deadly virus named SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

Now, after extensive research and months of production, CTV invites Canadians to step back in time past the quarantines and police barricades and straight into the heart of the crisis in Plague City: SARS in Toronto.

An emotional, medical and political thriller, the timely CTV Signature Series Movie premieres Sunday, May 29 at 9 p.m. ET (check local listings) on CTV and in High Definition on CTV HD East and CTV HD West.

Well, seeing as how it's a Canadian-made movie on Canadian television, I don't see that it would affect tourism that much at all.

I can't believe you are saying this, after all the healthcare workers risk their lives confining this plague and keeping the city plague free, while all you people think about TOURISM? Being a nurse myself and was infected with SARS, I had to work one on one with the sars patients at Mt Sanai Hospital and seeing them die is just sad and unecessary, also not only was that heartbreaking, what made it worse was I potientally infected my two daughters and wife during the first few days of the out break and thank God they were not affected in any way. During the sars peroid, I also became infected and was quarnteened for 20 days, and those 20 days were horryfing, I could not sleep and constantly wondering if I would die as a result of this, but I didnt die, even though there were times when I wanted to, as a result of the laboured breathing. All this and the 44 tragadies in Ontario could of been avoided if those fuc*ing idiots at Toronto Public Health, Ontario Health etc etc, thought about quarntineing early instead of worrying about lost tourism and pennies and nickels when lives of Torontoians were at risk.

I just hope (GOD FORBID) if a similar plague of this nature does return to Toronto, those idiots take the nescessary percautions of containg this plague at its early stage instead of worring about the economics and tourism.

Sorry for my rant, but back to topic, I did not watch this in HD but I did like the content as it depicted a real life situation and it showed Canadians what we had to put up with during the sars crisis.

I thought the PQ was fairly good, except for a few scenes that looked a little grainy (intentional?). The sound came through in DD5.1 (vocals in the centre channel, good stereo effects at times, only some background noises from the surround channels). Over all I think the quality was good.
