Harmony 650 with Bell 9242 - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

I got my Harmony 650 remote working pretty well with my setup but I can't get it to swap tuners or use PIP. The 9242 is in single mode as I like to use the swap feature. Any help much appreciated as, as it sits now I'll just have to revert to using the Bell remote, which defeats the purpose of buying the Harmony.

I don't have the 650 but I have the 700 which might be close and what I do with all my Harmony remotes with the 9242s is I utilize the 'channel up' and 'channel down' buttons and designate them 'PipSwap' and 'PipMove'. I assume the 650 has a 'customize buttons' programming section?.

Thanks Jaygeetee, it's working now. I guess I just have to familiarize myself with this remote and it's options.

For anyone else wondering, you use the software of course. When you set up your devices and create your activities, you then need to Customize Buttons and add PIP Swap, PIP Move and PIP On to either softbuttons (on the screen) or hard buttons (physical buttons on the remote). Same goes for the * and # buttons, aka: format and search. They too will not be added to the remote by default so you need to go into customize, and find the buttons, hit the drop down and add them.

On the Harmony 900, I added the PVR menu of recorded events to the red button, green yellow and blue got the PIP controls and then fixed the search.format options.
