Default Samsung 7000-Series Plasma in Canada?

For those that follow these sorts of things...

Do you figure the Samsung 7000-Series Plasma's will be available to purchase in Canada?

From what I could suss out from the avalanche of semi-relevant info after CES, the 7000-series has the same panel as the 8000-series, it just drops the potentially silly (and costly) gesture control and a couple of other similar features.

So...
best picture quality + fewer bells & whistles + lower cost = something I'd like to consider.

I did an online "chat" via the Samsung Canada website, and here is the gist of the answer I got:

Quote:
"The 7000 series does not appear on our website, therefore is not available."
and
Quote:
"If it does become available, it will appear on our website."

I'm sure I saw the 2011 D7000's in Canada, but can't be certain, as they don't show anymore.

Maybe this has no answer, but I'm hoping someone recalls a trend where Samsung Canada eventually brings out this line once they've milked the high priced 8000's for a while.

Thanks,
Ray

I recently bought the 6820 from Futureshop. They'll be hooking it up in a couple of weeks. I can't wait - it looks fantastic. Why not check it out?

That ain't much of an answer but I own the PN58C7000 (circa 2010) which lacked very little from the C8000. However I tend to be on the lookout for these kimds of things and havn't seen D7000s in stores here.
