So far no update from Wind for Galaxy Nexus. Still running 4.0.1.
Interestingly my dad (also with Wind) has Nexus S and Wind did OTA update for his phone to latest ICS. I did my research and it seems GN does not work well with ICS further update. I wonder if thats why Wind never send me OTA. Anyways, now the big question is will Wind send us Jelly Bean? |

From what I have read, JB is not released until mid to late July. My GN is Rogers and I hope they will update at some point.

I installed Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Nexus yesterday and quite like the improvements. Recommended.

Wind doesn't give you updates.
They come from Google and/or the phone manufacturer (depending on model - Nexii should be direct from Google) The Canadian GN has received updates on a delay for some reason or another. If you want the latest and greatest ASAP, you can download the ROM yourself from Google the second it's available. No need to wait for OTA prompt. |

All Nexus S HSPA devices were controlled by Google. Galaxy Nexus devices varied by region. The international versions (including the one that Google sold directly) which run the yakju or takju software variant are controlled by Google. The variant sold by Canadian carriers, including Wind, run the yakjuux software variant and are controlled by Samsung.
Supposedly, yakjuux contains radios that are optimized for Canadian carriers, but the hardware itself is identical, and it's easy to convert yakjuux variants to yakju or takju. |
