Default Reception error problem

I have a 6131 and am running a dpp plus on my dish. I've locked the 91 at 80% and when I go to check switch to obtain my 82 it comes back with reception error so essentially I can only get SD programming right now? I'm thinking my alignment could be wrong on my dish? Any thing beyond that guess and I'm stumped.....any help would be greatly appreciated!

Be sure your MAST is plumb and level or else its difficult to make things works! (Can't stress this enough)

To make things simple, do you have any legacy LNBF's to aim one satellite at a time, it makes it easier to check the signal levels because you can swap cables around quickly instead of check switch, either way if you don't I presume you didn't skew the dish yet and thus why you are not seeing 82 yet. You haven't stated your location so I can't give you a skew angle to use. But it can be quickly found online or I believe in any of the bell manuals with your receivers. Hopefully that helps a bit.

I would guess that you have the 82 side of the LNBF aimed at 91, therefore you get zip on the 91 side.

If you have a Legacy LNBF, use that for aiming. If not try putting some Foil around the 82 side of your DPP Twin, peak the signal on 91, then remove and run a Check Switch.

I am on western North Dakota. I do not have any single LNBs handy to do a check...The dish has been skewed accordingly, I did that last summer when I installed the dish.... I will recheck my skew and see if that helps... If not I'll have to try rotating my dish??

I put tinfoil over the 82 side and it did not affect the current 91 signal ... Could the 82 just be bad?

I would be checking the Footprint for the 82 bird, since the launch of Nimiq 4 it reduced the coverage to the US.

Did 82 ever work.?
