Its not possible to use North American Equipment on PAL TVs. You will most likely have to purchase an NTSC and/or ATSC set in order to use Shaw service.

Im not sure if there are any converters out their that might convert the NTSC signal to PAL.

I seriously doubt that it can be done. The signals are broadcast in NTSC, and unless the receiver has some kind of conversion circuitry/prgram, you are out of luck. You'll have to buy a new TV.

Of course I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Default OK

BUt if you look at the configuration screen, it actually has a section where it states both PAL/NTSC. SO just wondered how do i try to enter this portion to possible change setting.

Thats probably because the receiver itself could in theory decode NTSC and PAL signals however all signals in North America are NTSC so chances are your out of luck.

I would hazard a guess that this is a read-only setting that reports that hardware configuration of the box. If you could switch it to PAL, then the box would only receive PAL signals - which wouldn't work with Shaw anyway.

Depending on the size of the TV you can get a 27 inch Tv from as cheap as $200 to $500 brand new. Check out sales, etc
