If it's something you'd like to see in the Shaw lineup, I'd suggest submitting a channel request via shaw.ca/chat if you haven't done so already. Employee's are told about channel additions 1-2 days before public release, so there's not much we can share.

cheers.

Well honestly if I have to suggest to Shaw what they have to do , I better be working there . I think along with myself , and along with other coutomers who have suggested of getting the channe l , not just on there site , taking to them over the phone , or in person . Honestly Shaw just has to look around to there compition and see what they are doing .

shawsean is saying how does Shaw know if customers want a certain channel if they don't request it.

You can contact Shaw over the phone or through email as well as chat to request the channel.

People have been asking for CBC News Network HD since Jan 2009 and this has still not been added to the Shaw HD channel lineup. Plus, every single competitor, Rogers, Bell, Telus, Cogneco, MTS has CBC NN HD in their lineup.

Still don't know how Shaw puts a priority on adding channels as they seem to ignore some channels completely even after constant consumer requests and major competitors having this channel.

I have asked several times, in person and via the messaging system, and finally gave up. CBC has at least 4 HD channels - CBC HD, SRC (French), CBC Bold, and CBC News Network. I don't know the reason that other than CBC HD, the others haven't been picked up. I suspect it is either hardball (as in $$) from CBC's part or something political ("too socialistic") on Shaw's part. In either way, we have a good clear image of US Republican politics and one of the worst SD pictures providing insight into the robocalls, pension and upcoming Canadian budget issues. Go figure!

I'm not sure about CBC, but I'm guessing with FX it's about carriage fees. Shaw has negotiate decent terms to carry the channel. Look at the caveat on the last 5 channels that Shaw added. There was an SD requirement for the HD channels which I don't think we'd had before.

If shaw just gives the channels owners whatever they want to carry it, we'll end up paying for it. It's probably the same reason Telus doesn't carry some of the channels the Shaw does (they're still trying to negotiate better terms).

Commercials don't generate as much revenue as they used to. It's all about carriage fees now.

I for one don't really want this channel and would hate to see my cable bill go up for it
