Windows Media Center et ATSC

Bonjour,

Comme la majorité des gens lisant ce forum, j'habite au Canada. Je trouve abbérant que dans Media Center (XP ou Vista) on ne puisse voir le signaux ATSC parce que l'on vit en dehors des USA.

(Je sais il y a un truc, mais le problème reste là! Microsoft priorise les citoyens des USA. On utilise aussi ces signaux au Canada)

J'ai donc fait une plainte à Microsoft et j'aimerais que tous en fassent autant!!!

I live in Canada and I have a TV tuner with ATSC capabilities. I live neer Montreal and CBC & SRC are broadcasting ATSC signal. I can watch them within the software provided with my TV-Tuner card (Hauppauge HVR-1600 - WinTV 2000) but I can't watch it within Media Center (Because I don't live in the USA). But these signals are available from Montreal, are broadcasted from Montreal and are two Canadian channels. If I tell Media Center that I live in USA, I can watch them (But no guide). And this compromise isn't an option because I have a second source (analog cable) and I need the guide.

I don't understand why I can't watch ATSC channels in Canada since some channels are broadcasted from my country. I heard about a trick in the registry, but I can't understant why, because I live in Canada, I can't use Media Center to watch ATSC channel.

Can you answer me about the details why outside USA ATSC tuners are not supported?

J'ai déjà fait le tour de toutes les options gratuites qu'il m'a proposées. Selon lui, il ne me reste plus qu'à payer 59$US pour avoir le droit de parler à un technicien car ça fait plus de 90 jours que j'ai acheté mon Windows.

I already check out on a lot of forums and on the Microsoft Community groups.

I dont' understand why the free technical support is only for 90 days since the first installation of this licence.

I paid my licence of Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bits on february 2007 and I can't reach without any charges the technical support (Phone / Chat or email).

I'm really upset. If I setup Media Center like I live in USA, I can have access to ATSC channels, but can't have the good TV Listings in the Guide.

Why living in Canada block somes functionalities in Media Center?

Is Canadians means less to Microsoft than Americans?

The DTV standard in Canada is ATSC, in Mexico also.

À ce que je sache, les cablodistributeurs Canadiens (Vidéotron, Rogers, Shaw) utilisent les QAM et certains (comme Rogers) n'encryptent pas les canaux locaux.

Je ne peux pas essayer cette méthode puisque je n'ai pas de carte avec l'ATSC mais j'aimerais bien être informé si ça fonctionne.

Je l'ai fait et ça marche. Le point n'est pas là. Je trouve juste abbérant que Microsoft priorise ses citoyens américains avant les canadiens. Puisque nous n'habitons pas aux USA, nous avons des fonctionnalités limités. Pourtant c'est le même logiciel.

Bonjour a tous,j'étais absent cette semaine car j'ai pris ma décision. Finalement un ordi usagé Hewlett P modele Pavilion Media center M9325F,Core2 Quad Q6600, 2.4 Ghz, 4 Go de ram DDR2. 670 Go hard disc, carte video GeForce 8400GS 256 Mo avec HDMI. graver DVD et surtout tv tuner win-tv-hvr-1250.

Superbe appareil, bien constuit avec Windows 7 64 bit updaté.

Quelques difficultés pour l'addapté avec ma HDTV Pana TC-L32S1 (question de trouver le bon pilote et de faire passer le son par le HDMI).

Je crois que MC7 peux gerer plusieurs tuner simultanément.

Maintenant j'essaie de lire les fichiers (programmes TV) que MC7 genere en .WTS mais que l'on peux convertir en .DVR-MS avec Windows XP sur mon vieux computer et j'ai beaucoup de difficulté.
J'y suis arrivé une fois avec Media player 11 sur l'ordi au bureau mais chez moi cela ne fonctionne pas avec mon viel ordi.

Si quelqun connait "Le Truc". je donne ma langue au chat.Je suis sur que c'est une question de codecs.

Oui, MC7 peut gérer plusieurs tuners jusqu'à 4. Avec TunerSalad le nombre est illimité.
Pour convertir les fichier WTV; sélectionne le fichier dans Explorer (sur l'ordi avec Win7), right clique et dans le menu sélectionne 'convertir en DVR-ms'. Je n'ai plus de système en XP mais je crois que MP11 supporte les format WTV.
Tu n'as pas besoin de codec special pour la conversion, par contre si tu as besoin d'un codecs pack, je recommande Shark007.

J'aimerais ajouter une deuxieme carte tuner avec un DUAL tuner.Le modele wintv-hvr-2250 m'interesse mais je me demande si ca vaut la peine de payer $ 20 a $ 25 de plus pour obtenir le kit avec la télécommande,IR blaster,Fils,etc

Une télécommande est presque essentielle pour regarder la télé!
Le IRBlaster est inutile puisqu'il sert a contrôler un top box.
La télécommande Hauppage est satisfaisante. Sinon des télécommandes Media Center sont disponibles; le recepteur se branche sur usb.

Convertir .wtv en autre chose. MC-TVConverter (http://mctvconverter.vivolum.net)
Gratuits, très simple d'utilisation.

Je l'utilise pour transformer en .mpeg (il n'y a pas de perte pour ce type de conversion) et tout le monde lis ça.

J'ai acheté (sur ebay 18$US) un IR Blaster, qui vient avec une télécommande, pour contrôler mon décodeur de cogeco. Dans 15 jours je devrais le recevoir... Je ne vois pas d'autre cas où ça vaut la peine d'investir... À moins que l'ordinateur soit loin.
