Default NFL Sunday Ticket 2011-12

Any news about early bird pricing this year?

We were lucky enough last year to get every game in glorious HD at no exta-cost, but I'd rather pay a bit more and get the full Directv added features.

Quote:
Game Mix
Why restrict yourself to one game at a time? The Game Mix channel (702) — available in HD* — lets you enjoy up to 8 games at the same time, live on your TV, complete with scores and game clock. Want to watch one full screen? Just highlight and click.**

RED ZONE CHANNEL®
Never miss a play from inside the 20. The RED ZONE CHANNEL® (703) brings you the final yards of every scoring drive on one dedicated channel. And it's all available in HD.

Short Cuts
Tune in to channels 704–705 to see replays of entire games in less than 30 minutes. That's every play, uninterrupted by commercials. So if you missed a game or want to feel the excitement again of a game you already saw, you can tune in Mondays and Tuesdays and catch it with none of stuff you don't want.

Player Tracker
Fantasy football fans: Here's your edge. Track up to 18 players in real time right on your screen. Go to channel 701 and pick your players. Then follow team and individual stats throughout the day. You even get live "Big Play" alerts for your players every time they make a game-changing play.**
Hey a guy can dream can't he?

My guess they are waiting to see if there is a season.

there is a season.

bobbyk,
I wouldn't hold my breath on Shaw providing any of the DirecTV Sunday ticket extras expect possibly the RedZone channel.
Last season, the announcement of the Sunday Ticket details came during the 1st week of August.

It is not official yet. Tomorrow it will be after the players vote.

Shaw Cable needs Red Zone Channel. Sat is one thing....

Looks like I'll be paying the NFL directly for access instead of Shaw

Has Shaw introduced a plan that allows you to pay for just one team's games? My parents have Sasktel Max and I could've sworn my Dad mentioned that he could subscribe to Miami Dolphins games only if he so chose. Does Shaw plan to offer this? I could careless about the games not involving the San Francisco 49ers, so I'd subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket, if I could get just the 49ers games for a cheaper price.

I really don't understand how anyone can complain about the price. If John is right and it's the same price as last year then that's VERY reasonable for a FULL season of football. Heck even if it was 160 just for my team I'd have no problems paying that.

If you lived in the States you'd be paying more than double this price.

I agree. $39 per month for all games or $8 per week is very reasonable . Last year, however, I found that most of the marquee games were available on the regular Fox and CBS plus the CTV, BCTV and other CDN Channels. Except for the occasional game I was hardly watching the Paid Channels. Of course it all depends on your desired game of choice.

Another problem I have with Sunday Ticket is my penchant for Channel flipping. I try to watch all the games and as a result I miss all the "big" plays for my desired game.

Insync44 is bang on. I like the package but between the networks and canadian channels my team it seems was always on regular TV with the 5.1 sound. Is the 160 bucks worth the odd game and the constant flipping and missing of the important plays cause I flip so much? I gotta flip. Can't help it.
I'll probably still get it.
But can we record games this year? That is the Mpeg4 question.

I'm not complaining about the price per se. But since I only intend to watch 16 games (and 3 games are on Thursday Night/Monday Night Football), $40/month isn't cost effective for me, as it would be on average $10/game that I'd watch (except in December when it would jump to $20). Add in that since Shaw carries FOX from Spokane, we'd get all the Seahawks games here. I would only watch 11 games and that is even before the possibility that FOX/CBS carries some of the other Niners games.

I only watch the 49ers, the NFL generally features boring games (I am a CFL fan through and through and 10-7 games bore me to tears), so it is unlikely I'd watch other teams' games. But I would watch the Niners play regardless of how bad they may be. That was why I was wondering.

There used to be an option to order games individually. I dont remember if that's still the case. I guess it all comes down to how passionate you are about your team and/or the NFL. I know the red zone channel is ultra-popular for many fans and I think it would offer people a great option for those looking for an alternative plan. I really hope Shaw knows about it and has the ability to offer it this year.

Back in 2000 - 2003-ish you used to be able to PPV each NFL game for $4.
