Unhappy Procedure for fallen telephone line?

So a tree branch has fallen onto my phone line and knocked it down, now the question I have is will bell come and replace the fallen line for free (fell from the pole side) or will I have to pay for this service call, we don't use the home phone much so if there is a charge I think I am going to cancel (typing this from my cell phone anyways) but from what I recall back in the day these types of calls where free if anything is wrong from there end (i.e the poll) or has that changed now a days ?

Bell is responsible for everything beyond the demarc, so give them a call.

Angry

As I was to recall everything to the poll side was ours, or am I mistaken and am correct as to my first post, I have called but they said there would be a charge didn't argue with them just said to them all pass, did I just get an employee who is confused out of there mind ? Maybe I worded it wrong to them wrong, but I am certain wire for my phone fallen from pole side is pretty damn clear no?

What do you think guys?

As noted by JamesK, the demarc point determines responsibility. I'd call them back and ask again.

Thanks hugh, called again and was cleared for the repair, although she wouldn't confirm if there would be a charge or not, I will see tommarow what happens, Thanks again, all let you know what happens!

Smile Job Complete

Everything went smoothly today and no issues what so ever, glad to have service back (don't like using cellphone during the day anyways) Thanks Hugh!! Also I went one step further I called back a few hours later to confirm no charge and was told that there is indeed no charge for this repair, Thanks Bell!
