Immensely enjoyed the first. The little known Polish developer CD Projekt Red made both games and are based on novels by:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrzej_Sapkowski Reviews are coming in http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/th...ssins-of-kings Only available for PC atm. They are talking about a console port. I'm a few hours in. My only grief so far is the fact I am a packrat and there is a personal weight limit and no storage I can find. I was forced to download a mod to make everything weightless as I have OCD for picking up EVERYTHING in RPG's. |

They have confirmed that a 360 port is coming. I really wanted to play the original, but I can't stand keyboard/mouse games.

I sit on my couch playing on my projection screen using a wireless trackball and the Razer Nostromo.
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-p...s/devices/7365 http://store.razerzone.com/store/raz...ctID.221675100 I would have loved to buy a wireless Nostromo type device so I could leave my PC in the office but sadly no such beast exists. That said because I use a projector I can hide my PC to the side of the couch, out of sight out of mind. |

We have the same trackball! I absolutely love it.
The Witcher 2 is on my must-buy list but i have to go through my back log of games first. |

Almost done my 1st playthrough. My musings thus far are.
Fun game, much like the 1st. Very good story, characters and a convincing world. My criticisms The difficulty is a little on the high side, especially in act 1 which should be the easiest. I experienced 2 game breaking bugs I had to think creatively around. I googled my issued and oddly could not find anyone else with the same problems. You can't really control leveling. Generally in rpgs you can choose to "grind" levels. In The Witcher 2 it feels like you are just along for the ride as the XP comes from quests which are limited and you can't effectively level from killing things. I also get that "console action game" feel from boss encounters. Your gear, levels, spec count for little when a boss can kill you with 2 blows. If you hit the dodge button a moment too late it's over. I find the bosses frustrating and this is from someone who has the Platinum trophy in Demon's Souls and loved every moment of it. Overall I'd give the game a solid 80/100. The story, characters and world are up to snuff but I can't help but feel I'm playing an action game masquerading as an RPG. |
