God Damn Media. The gas was orangy/brown and I haven't seen any orange mustard recently. Trying to scare the public, the bastards.

The trains were out of service for several hours. Luckily, a friend of a friend came and picked us up.

GO was running buses to get people to there original destination.

For some reason must newspapers igorned this story. You have to dig deep to find a paragraph.

I'm not getting your gripe? Are you trying to make some connection with mustard gas?? Certainly didn't get that from the article myself, especially considering mustard gas is not mustard coloured (it's colourless). And what is 'mustard' colour, anyway? That ultra-yellow French's stuff is but one type.

Yes, I viewed it as sensationalization by the media. In this case it was the Star.

Here's the Globe's report. They even had the colour right (I had seen it on TV)

http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/...14/TTORO14-1//

The general public doesn't know what colour (or lack thereof) "mustard gas" has.

I guess the Mississauga News is guilty too then:

http://www.mississauga.com/mi/news/s...-2223040c.html

Although the root of the vapours are clearly orange, look up...looks mustard yellowish to me. Which of course makes perfect sense since orange, mixed with the blue sky, would produce yellow.

I know you think I'm making a mountain out of a mole-hill, but there is no need to sensationalize such events.

If the gas is orange (at the bottom of the plume) (or yellow - against the sky), then say the colour. Mentioning "Mustard" brings into play a different reaction and they knew it.

If you look up further in the sky, the gas is actually colourless because it as dissipated to some extent...

Were the train tracks within this radius?

According to that Mississauga News article, the description of "mustard" is attributable to Platoon Chief Mike Head.

"God Damn Fire Department", I guess?

Sure sounds good! I guess the Globe and Mail didn't interview the guy, or chose to ignore the remark, or simply picked the item "off the wire"...

At that location, the tracks are preety darned close to Lakeshore / Royal Windsor. If not within the 200 meters, then very, very close to 200 meters.
