I was just wondering if anyone knows if the Fibe service will be making it's way to Halifax any time in the near future?

CBC is saying FibreOp will arrive in Sydney this fall. No mention of Halifax.

Yeah I just seen that today, I stumbled across that on their web site. It's odd that Sydney would get this service before Halifax, no offense to anyone from Sydney

, it's just that Halifax is the major hub in Nova Scotia. Aliant is advertising up to 170Mbps download and 30Mbps upload on the site. Seeing as East Link is charging something like $170/month for their 100Mbps service the price for 170Mbps must be scary.

...and Dexter is kicking in money!! I do hope Halifax gets it also in the fall. Do you know if the NB FibreOp is capped?

I just checked the Bell site and it says 75gb caps are in place for the 25mbps/2mbps Fibre service.

Maybe they will move to roll out faster in St John's once Rogers starts up DOCSIS 3. Aliant only offers up to 13 Mbps here now, which is pretty terrible.

It hasn't helped them roll it out here in Halifax.
