You may have a small misunderstanding. Your Rogers Cable box OUTPUTS a picture to a TV, your DVD Player Also Outputs picture to a TV.
You can not connect two outputs to each other and expect them to work. Your TV has Inputs, you need to connect your Rogers Box to one of them, and your DVD to another one of them. Hope this helps. |

Did you choose the appropriate input on your TV
with the TV remote ?

If you have programmed your Rogers remote to control your TV,
press TV on Rogers remote, followed by VIDEO SOURCE. This is equivalent to using the INPUT button on your lost TV remote.

You need to select the appropriate input on the TV. You may be able to do that with buttons directly on the TV, or you may be able to programme the Rogers remote to control the TV (instructions in remote's operating manual), or you may wish to purchase a Harmony or similar universal remote.
The "video source" suggestion by romulus is a good one, however, it doesn't work for all TVs as sometimes you need to go into the TV's menu to select the input, but that may also be possible if you find the correct code for the TV. The correct code may not be the first one that works, you may need to try several as different codes work better for some functionality. The Video Source button is also not available on all Rogers remotes, so you may need to trade your remote. You don't say which Rogers STB you have. Please advise make/model of all your equipment and we can help you better. No video source button on the remote.
The Rogers box is an Explorer 3000. I'll try with a new TV remote and let you know. Thanks for the help. |
