Default Navigon App turns your iPhone into a GPS device

Navigon AG today announced the North American launch of its MobileNavigator software which transforms your iPhone into a complete navigation device.

Cool app.

This is an interesting business strategy. In May Navigon announced they were stopping production of North American GPS units. With every electronic item coming with a GPS chip now, focusing on software and maps could make them a lot of money. I wouldn't be surprised to see this for Android and Palm devices in the near future as well.

Triacc, that's it. It just wasn't up on iTunes Canada until later.

$70 on iTunes Canada until Aug 15th then $100 after that.

Triacc,

Did you end up giving it a go? I'm curious how it works as a pedestrian. Could be very handy when traveling and walking around sight seeing, looking for places to eat etc...
