On FOX in the US, and CTV and A-Channels in Canada.
Not a bad series opener. The opening scene was one of the most intense opening scenes that I can remember. JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias) is involved with this show so I'm not surprised.
Verily, this show is eerily reminiscent of The Twilight Zone and X-Files. I hope it can carve it's own identity and niche. If it can do that, it has a chance.
Love this new show, really find it interesting, make for a great night of TV with NCIS..Find the cast rather good also, variety of weirdness. The lead woman rocks. Thought last night they came back with a full bang.
If anyone is interested, Wildstorm Comics (an imprint of DC) is publishing a 6 part Fringe comic book. So far 2 issues have been released. It focuses on Walters backstory and so far has been very good.
It is soooooo derivative of X-Files that it almost goes without saying, right down to the opening theme and graphics. Maybe in the future there will be a jump-the-shark moment with Scully, Mulder, Doggett, or Reyes showing up, or maybe the Lone Gunmen!
Last episode was great, too. The opening scenes are always very movie-like. Wife even asked me what movie I was watching. And they don't hold back on the gore, either.
The way Walter talks, it reminds me of Vincent Price for those who know who Vincent Price (Edgar Allen Poe movies early 60s). It's all ways calm with bit of wit and humour.
My wife and I enjoy playing the game of who can spot the bald guy first... He appeared again in tonight's episode. It's like finding the Numbers on LOST... makes watching that much more fun!
Yeah, that's going to be a long wait. The blame probably goes to American Idol.
Interesting to see another level in the story unfold tonight (though that's a complex world is to be expected with JJ Abrams involvement). Can't wait for the new ones in April. Blasted AI...
Really like this show. JJ is doing a much better job with this than LOST. In real life Olivia( actress) is married to John Scott (actor)..That must have been wild playing these roles.
"Spot the bald guy" - that's great, I really hadn't noticed him in every episode, my wife pointed him out in the most recent one. Here's a good video compilation of all his appearances so far:
