I know some people would like to format their harddrive on their DVR, but when going through all the menus you just don't see that option. All you can do is delete the files, by selecting them and deleting them, but sometimes you feel that you just want to erase everything.
WARNING! Once this is done, there is no turning back!!
This is how you do it:
Make sure the box is ON. Then turn it off, then press "ok" on your remote (or select on the box itself) this is how you enter the diagnostics screen. While in this screen on your remote you see 3 buttons in a row, one with a 360 degrees arrow, a (green) "list" button and a "live" button. Press the arrow once, then 3 times the "list" button, then once the "live" button. (from left to right) Your box will then say. "clr" for clear, I believe. Then press any button. That's it.
Now sometimes this function on your remote is not working and the remote has to be activated for this function to work.
Press "CBL" at the top, then press and hold the "setup" button (top left) till the "CBL" button lights up twice. Then press 1376 on your remote. The remote is now activated to perform the formatting of your harddrive.
