Exid0r My Rogers LiteTV subscription does not appear to include TSC.

Personally, it's not a channel that I would subscribe to or watch anyway.

Dr.Dave ^^ TSC pays the cable companies to carry the channel.

A lot of the channels that are specifically listed in the CRTC policy don't have carriage fees and there are limits on which "free" Canadian and U.S. channels can be included in skinny basic. If the CRTC wanted to allow all channels that don't charge a carriage fee to be included, they would have put that in the policy.

However, TSC may be allowed in skinny basic, since it is an exempt channel.

winterwolf "Who is going to pay to have this in their package in a world where Amazon exists?"

Older generation and those who don't know how to use the Internet. So TV shopping is the only choice.

The problem with today's world is that elders and older generation are often forgotten...

bigoranget I'm pretty sure barker channels and shopping channels can go in skinny basic considering there is no carriage fee. Same would be true of any channel that has no carriage fee.

jaxon9032 I don't think it meets the criteria to be included in skinny basic. I think the CRTC list was quite explicit bout what could be included and I don't recall TSC being in there.

bigoranget The Shopping Channel doesn't have carriage fees associated with it so it will continue to be on basic/skinny basic

Tridus That's the only way it will stick around. Who is going to pay to have this in their package in a world where Amazon exists?

mike10 it will probably be included in the basic skinny package for some company's

jfoley85 I really don't see this channel surviving in a pick and pay world no matter who buys it unless someone purchases it and rebrands it to something of worth. Who would choose TSC I probably wouldn't give it a second thought.

yyzlhr They've had several rounds of layoffs at TSC over the last few years. I suppose this is better than just shutting down the channel altogether.

thenewdc I guess it's no longer a good fit with Rogers sports ambitions.

Jason Frost Do you think that The Shopping Channel will be on sale on The Shopping Channel?
2015-09-08 02:30 PM
mismag Gee if they sell this what are they going to air all weekend on City? lol
2015-09-05 06:39 PM
ParamountChris I could see Zoomer Media buying it

Inglewood I don't watch the channel, but does the sale include the website/online store? The Shopping Channel online store has the occasional good deal on it...
