I am trying to decided between a 52-inch Samsung 120 Hz LCD and a 52-inch Sony 120 Hz LCD. While I prefer the Samsung, I am concerned about the glossy screen. I have windows down the one side of room and wonder how much reflection I might see on the screen during daytime viewing. Can anyone provide any advice here? Closing the curtains is not always an option as my wife loves the natural light.
I appreciate any input.

One of the reasons that people like LCDs for bright rooms is because most of them have a matte screen. I would not get a glass screen for your application if you have that much light and possible reflection.
If you're worried about glare I'd defenitly go with the Sharp D85. You get 120 HZ plus 10 bit panel and 4 ms responce for less than Sony W. Awesome TV I'm buying one in a couple weeks!

I have a 46" Sharp 120HZ LCD and on its left side are windows that are 3/4 of the wall and I have no problems with any outside light what so ever.

I understand the Samsung LN630 has a matte screen with 120hz. Slightly less contrast ratio than the LN 650 though.

I thought the 650 was also a matte screen?
I have a 750, and I do not like the glossy bezel/screen since it does attract dust and is reflective sometimes, not enough to be bothersome though. The PQ though is outstanding on this set, really awesome quality.

I was looking at both Samsung and Sony and ended up with a Toshiba Regza, it has all the stuff that the other two does plus more and the price cant be beat.
I have 4 south facing large windows down the left wall of my room and no problems with reflections.
Check out the Toshiba Regza 52XV545U, I think you will not regret it.
Good luck.

Dont downgrade from the 650 to a Toshiba or Sharp or other watered down tv's just to avoid the glossy screen when theres the 630 available.
Go with the 630. 40:000:1 is pretty damn good.
I love the glossy screen then again I have no natural sunlight in this room

We have the A750 and the entire east wall is windows. Had read about reflection but are not bothered by the windows at all. Love this tv.
I think everyone needs to remeber that contrast ratio number's are completely inaccurate
I too am using the 650 in a fairly bright room with no problems whatsoever.
After comparing the 630 VS 650, the 650 won me over hands down. So contrast ratio aside, there is a difference between the two.
