I remember some time ago we used to get Rochester here in Ottawa before we switched to Detroit.
CBS- WHEC Rochester
NBC- WROC Rochester
ABC- WWOR Rochester
PBS- Watertown
FOX- Buffalo
Now I know these where switched to Detroit due to the way we had gotten Rochester, something about the US carrier that Rogers got the signal from. I'm not to sure on the exact story though.
But I seem to recall a city near the GTA, Port Hope comes to mind but I could be mistaken, anywho it was a city close to the GTA they use to also get Rochester for its US nets (not sure where they got FOX & PBS from though), but is this city still getting Rochester? And if so why didn't Rogers just do what this other city is doing (thats assuming there still getting Rochester)?
Now grant you I'm not sure how Rogers is getting the Detroit & Buffalo signals (I don't think its sat, could be mistaken though) but I do know there fibered up from Toronto to Ottawa.
As to why we're (Ottawa) getting Detroit instead of Buffalo, I'm not sure why (I'm assuming or guess getting Buffalo would be just as easy as Detroit if it fibered up to Ottawa from Toronto)?
Anyways does anyone know of this place (near the GTA), if there still getting Rochester or not?
Thanks.
