I couldn't find a Season 5 thread on the search so I hope I'm not duplicating.

Apparently CTV will not be playing showing and instead it will be moved to A. This means there will be no Canadian channels showing lost in HD.

Which means no HD simsubs for those in Vancouver and the GTA (and everyone with Bell).

Back on topic of the thread. ABC will reair the final 3 hours from last year on Wednesday January 14. Then on January 21, they will air a one hour recap special, followed by the two hour premiere. Then on January 28 it will move to 9:00, it's regular timeslot.

I don't believe there is an A-Channel station in Montreal. My parents are on Videotron's basic package -- no American networks. Does this mean their favorite show will be unavailable to them?

BIH CTV!

Yes it does.

Yes, unless they change their cable subscription. Shows how little CTV cares about their viewers and what shows air on their network... all they care about is the highest rated shows and doing simsubs to the max. This is why they move shows around between networks ad nauseum.

Well come on, they need to make room for America's Greatest Cat.

I am very upset by this - I have a HDTV arriving shortly - I had timed it so I could watch the new LOST season in HD. WTH!!!

You can watch LOST Season 5 on ABC in HD.

Can't say that I am thrilled with this. ABC HD has been the worst channel for audio dropouts via Shaw here in my house for a while. Watching Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money has been an exercise in frustration for me. Plus, I have my Tivo HD for OTA HD, so it's also a better picture from CTV than I get from cable.

Thanks for the heads up! I will change my timer to use ABC instead. Since I use OTA, simsubs aren't a problem for me. I had Lost set to use CFTO because the PQ was a little better.

CTV are media whores IMO (almost as bad as TSN). They buy every program available without planning to air half of them, all in the hope that they find the next hit. Now that they have their A channel stations, they can just bump the "B shows" down. Of course if the ratings change you can bet they'll switch shows around. Who cares about continuity or viewer loyalty! Just witness the crap they pulled a few years back with the Junos and Desperate Housewives.

Wow, another semi let down, not sure what the writers are doing, that episode could have been a hour, no need to stretch it out that long..Hopefully the season picks up.

i thought the episode was EXCELLENT. it opened up a bunch of possibilites. this show just keeps getting more and more progressively sci-fi. funny how the show was so reality-based in season 1. :)
anyways, i'm on Rogers in Toronto. did anyone else get these pauses everytime it went to commercial? it also did it a few times within the show, which was annoying.

Lost (and other shows) on ABC (Buffalo) on Rogers (GTA) have always been bad. See here (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=100450) and here (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=81997), it's been an annoyance for a long time.

The pauses as well as the amount of commercials were indeed annoying. I might get the episodes on bittorrent so I can watch them again sans pauses/commercials.

Say what?! Awesome premiere to the season! Reminded me of how much I missed the show, and how terrible this season of Heroes was.

Fantastic episode - so much going on.

My favorite line is when Richard hands Locke a compass, and Locke asks - "what does this do?". Richard's reply - "it points North".
