sadchel 2009-02-19, 01:24 PM best line of the season:
when Jack asked Ben what will happen to rest of the people on the plane, and Ben replies "who cares"
MuteyM 2009-02-19, 05:15 PM Other great lines from this season:
Richard: [Gives Locke a compass]
Locke: What does this do?
Richard: It points North.
and
Jack: [On plane with Ben] How can you read?
Ben: My mother taught me.
Jack: [On plane with Ben] How can you read?
Ben: My mother taught me.
An Ironic statement of course since Ben's mother died in childbirth.
jumpy27 2009-02-20, 05:16 AM How did Hurley get out of jail and why was he on the flight? And why was Syiad on the same flight?
sleemo 2009-02-20, 07:39 AM Hurley got out of jail with help from Ben's lawyer a couple of episodes ago. The reasons why the others were on the plane will probably be explained in the next coming episodes.
painter 2009-02-20, 10:21 AM Seeing Sahid was in handcuffs,I'm sure Ben had him arrested for some of the murders he knowingly had him commit and somehow got him put on that flight.Even though Kate was on the plane could they have required someone in handcuffs with some sort of federal agent, to replicate the first flight. The same as the Locke,Christian Sheppard circumstance.
99gecko 2009-02-20, 02:21 PM Did anybody notice the co-ordinates where the island currently is? I'm just wondering.

FWIW, If you're planning your next vacation, the island doesn't actually exist, and even if it did, it might not be there by the time you arrive... ;)
NB Josh 2009-02-20, 03:13 PM Lol, I just wanted to look on Google Earth to see where they were. Thanks for the picture.
sharpnfuzzy 2009-02-23, 09:41 AM Did anyone think that the way Jack got his father's shoes was a little too convenient? Just seemed like laziness on the part of the writers.
ryoung 2009-02-23, 09:53 AM I don't think so.
Jack was doubting things and thought the whole "Lock as a proxy for your father" was crazy and then he gets called away to something unrelated only to find the shoes, like the island wanted him to (or so it seems).
sleemo 2009-02-23, 10:16 AM The Island willed it and made it so. ;)
sharpnfuzzy 2009-02-23, 10:58 AM I just think that there could have been a more thought out way for him to find the shoes.
It would have had the same effect in the end (proving to Jack that this is the right thing to do) and wouldn't have consisted of inventing a new "filler" character (I don't think we've ever heard of his grandfather) and having him interact with Jack just out of the blue.
I mean they could have also just as easily had a booming voice from the sky say "Here are your father's shoes!" and have them fall on Jack whilst walking down the street.
I hope this was a one off thing and not a sign that the series is wrapping up and they're grabbing at straws to tie up all the loose ends.
99gecko 2009-02-23, 04:50 PM Because they had to recreate the original crash as close as possible. Christian was dead in the coffin, Locke took his place and wearing something of his helped. Eloise explained to Jack that Locke was acting as a proxy for Christian and he had to give Locke something that belonged to his father.
Is anyone else wondering why Ben chose not to try and get Walt on that plane? If they're trying to recreate the original crash, he would have been a logical choice.
Perhaps the fact that he was *allowed* to leave the island has something to do with it?

I am guessing its because the kid that plays walt no longer looks anything like the character walt.
That made sense in previous seasons, but now Walt is supposed to be three years older.
denben73 2009-02-24, 08:04 PM Lost is on A and ABC from 9:00 to 10:06 ET on February 25th.
Watch out for Global probably cutting in at 10:00 for Life on Mars.
Just want to give a heads up. I know what it's like to miss the very end of episodes.;)
NB Josh 2009-02-24, 10:50 PM Right now Global has To Be Announced scheduled from 10:00-10:06pm tomorrow night, so who knows what will happen.
jumpy27 2009-02-25, 12:31 AM But, Life on Mars is also on ABC. Why would Global have a problem simsubbing it properly? It isn't like Global is carrying a show from another network that normally starts at 10.
denben73 2009-02-25, 12:41 AM OK...that wasn't there in the listings earlier...about Life on Mars starting at 10:06 on Global. It's been showing that it starts at 10:00 for the last thirteen days.
It wouldn't be a first for a provider to flip the switch too early.
Lost cut off at 10:pm for me.:(
Missed the last five minutes. So what happened after Ben killed John ?
