Here's the thing: if one hasn't seen the latest episode of a show, why would a person read the thread that's discussing it?
I make a point of not reading a thread like this if I'm waiting to see the most current episode (unless I'm looking for a re-cap).

Please stay on the topic of the show, not whether or not something should be a "spoiler" or not. The text in question was flagged yesterday. End of story.

Thanks

Anyone know if theepisode tonight is just a recap/overview of previous episodes or is it a new episode?

SEE this link. Hence the reason for my question.http://www.thefutoncritic.com/listings.aspx

ABC lost: the story of the oceanic 6 (#513.5)

It is a recap episode for the fifth season. There will be a new episode next week.

I hate recap shows. Of course, I will watch it :D

I have yetto watch a recap show, but I have set the PVR for tonight's episode. As things start to come together, I am happy to have reminders of relevant events

It sounded like tonight's "recap" show is a bit more than just a recap. Sounds like it will show some of the previous events from a different perspective.

Did anything important happen in last night's episode to make it worth watching, or was it just a recap? If only one or two new things happened and someone wants to explain them, that would be great.

Nope - just a standard recap show. Nothing new, nothing special.

My PVR didn't even record it. Strange. They must have changed the title.

Yes, it was labeled something like "LOST: Story of the Oceanic 6"

So what did everyone think? I think they could have ended the series right there, ala Sopranos style, when everything went to white, notwithstanding the choice of color of course.

I thought is was a pretty exciting episode, even though I'm not a fan of cliff hanger season finales. As they left it, anything is possible next season. It would be funny if the season opener began with them back on Oceanic Flight 815 again!

2010 seems like a long way off right now. Final Season too!

Yeah the ending basically means the next seaon is wide open. Perhaps next season will be a prequel to the last 4 seasons leading up to the flight over the island. ;)

Hehe scrooloose I see I am not alone in my ideas.

It was a great episode, especially the 2007 part. How did that person become (or look like) Locke? And we still have the really annoying question, how is it that Jacob and Richard don't age? The others are left without a leader and without whatever Jacob was, now. The beginning of the episode was brilliant, and the end was great too. Anything could happen next season, I just hope that they didn't erase everything. And yea the series could've ended right there, which would have made me mad, just like The Sopranos did.

So it seems that everything that has happened on and around the island has been controlled by those two guys, Jakob and his buddy. What are they? Greek gods in a titanic struggle through the ages? The statue certainly seems ancient. It turns out we haven't been watching Locke at all for most of this season. Seems the 'other' guy can take on other's forms.

The statue was almost certainly a depiction of the ancient Egyptian god Sobek. My guess is that Jacob and his antithesis are either the Egyptian gods Sobek and Set, or Osiris and Set. They are using the people as their pawns.

And the only way the other god could kill Jacob was with a loophole. Does that mean that the whole series is the loophole just to kill Jacob?

Does that mean that the whole series is the loophole just to kill Jacob

Seems a bit convoluted ... but maybe. I assume the ship in the intro was the Black Rock?

Richard may be the captain of the Black Rock. Still puzzled by the guy with Jacob who where there before the ship landed......where did they come from and why was it so easy to kill Jacob. The biggest surprise for the final season would be no season at all as everything disappeared in the Big Bang with the H-bomb.
