The webpage I have been trying to load is CBC. What usually happens is I get the top banner and then it hangs. Occasionally, the page will load. More often than not I have to go into the view--character encoding options and click on the autodetect button (which is already selected), the page will automatically load then. I get this loading issue almost 90% of the time with this site and don't have issues with any others. I've tried reinstalling firefox thinking something may have been corrupted. Any other suggestions?

It looks like there is a lot of javascript and flash on that page. Are you running Noscript? Another fix might be to get the latest flash player. It works fine on my rig, running Firefox 3.0.4 on linux.
Try clearing the cache in FF. I sometimes have something like that happen on espn.com. Clear cache. Try again. Comes up just fine.
CBC used to hang a lot, but I haven't had any recent issues. FF2.0 on a Mac G5, OSX 10.3.9.

I have the same version of Firefox at work and have no problems. I am not running "Noscript". I have tried clearing the cache with no luck. Below are some codes from the error console if it means something to anyone.

I also looked in the information message display in the error console and there are ~30 messages regarding failure to load various XPCOM components (I've shown one below). Is this normal?
Failed to load XPCOM component: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components\aboutRobots.js.moz-backup

Using Zone Alarm. If so try without.

CBC is a poorly-coded web site. I used to visit it a lot, but grew tired of all the errors and delays. If you're having trouble viewing it in Firefox, more than likely it's due to bad site coding and not to any issue with your browser.

I occasionally run into problems where I click on a link in CBC.ca, and it sits there "loading" forever and a day. I have to hit escape, to stop the load and then enter to restart it. That seems to solve the problem. At least it's not just me.
