I'm just built this DBGH and I currently have a CM4228. I am closer to Richmond(55miles to the south) than Washington(66miles to the north) and want to pick up both.

Question is: Can I put DBGH antenna in one direction and CM4228 in the other direction? Also, how do I go about combining these two to enter the CM7777?

Thanks for any help!

Two uhf antennas in different directions combined on a single coax downlead will subtract in gain from both.

What you want to do is have 2 downleads, one from each antenna, going into an A-B switch near the TV set. I would use the preamp and the DBGH in the direction of the weakest UHF channels. Or if you need to get weak VHF-HI channels, put the preamp on the CM4228. The CM4228 has decent VHF-HI gain. The DBGH is strictly UHF.

Most Washington and Richmond stations are very powerful. I even get them here, mostly on tropo conditions. At 55 and 66 miles away, I would say you could do without the preamp unless your cable run is over 50 feet.
