A support page on Apple’s Web site recommending users purchase antivirus software for their Macs received a lot of attention over the past couple of days, but on Tuesday Apple removed the page from its Web site. (http://www.macworld.com/article/137267/2008/12/antivirusremoved.html)

Bit of a tempest recently!

interesting a whoops post (http://www.sophos.com/blogs/gc/) on Graham Cluley's blog but also a post about whether you need anti-virus for macs (http://www.sophos.com/blogs/gc/g/2008/12/02/do-you-really-need-anti-virus-on-your-apple-mac/)

This support note was actually put out in 2007, and just recently updated to include newer antivirus scanners.
