Hi,

I have a LG 42inch tv with hdmi support. I also have a Virgin + box for digitial tv and a LG dvd home cinema system.

I want to watch tv programs with surround sound. Just not sure how to set it up.

Perhaps the following post on DD5.1 will help. Since you mention Virgin, I assume you're not in Canada... If you're in England, then I'm not sure if this applies, but you need to connect the STB to the HTiB via a digital audio connection (you didn't mention the makes/models of your equipment, so can't help you much more at this time)
