Autofils,

If I understand correctly, the active element design and sizing will remain exactly the same for the SBGH GPLv3 model ? If so, I can begin construction on it.

Its very early in the optimization phase, but the indications are that the active array design will be a bit larger than the GPLv3 design, and the element diameter for the array should be in the 5/16" to 7/16" range, instead of #9 Alu-wire. So if you plan to use Alu-rods, you should await the optimization results.

Sorry I can't be more specific at this time, but my available free time for this project is limited, more so now, with some current family matters.

Heh, heh. Thats was exactly what I was planning on using. I stumbled on a 12 foot roll of 1/4 inch ID (3/8 OD or 9 mm OD) copper tubing in the garage today that I forgot I had lying about. :p

OK, Ill wait for a while, no prob.

Yeah, I'm planning to use that stuff here, too. $15 for so for a 25' roll at Home Depot.

Cheers

Thats a bargain. I just looked at my local Lowes and its $45.17 for a 20 foot roll.
