I have been reading the great info here for a couple of weeks.

I am building four SBGH's from 3/4" pvc to replace two VHF/UHF yagi antennas above (inside) my garage.

The first antenna will use aluminium window screen, for the reflector. The screen will be taped in place, with aluminium tape. It will be easily replace the screen to evaluate different size wire grids using the same driven elements.

The driven elements are #10 solid copper.

Welcome bix2! I just want to point out that the S/DBGH is a UHF antenna, so VHF reception might not be very good (since you are looking at replacing a VHF antenna as well).

The SBGH should work for high vhf ch7 and 9. I'm very close to the low vhf station.

I'll be testing with a field strength meter after I complete the build.
