hi everyone..well for some reason i have this urge to go back to good old "tube" tv's. We've had sony tv's forever at home and i just love their quality. my folks have a sony 32" xbr2 that we got in the early 90's and it's still as crisp as it was then (paid about 3000.00 in those days!).
Anywho the tv in question that i'm debating is a sony KV27FV310. I was reading some reviews on it and it seems to be a good tv..do any of you know of this tv? any comments, recommendations??? thanks

Probably a nice SDTV. It even has component video inputs. It would depend on the price I suppose - Say under $100?

For example, you can purchase a new 27" Tube TV with CV input for about $200. A ~27" HD LCD would be a bit more.

Be aware that many people are almost giving away their Tube HDTVs (not SDTVs) as they move to plasmas/LCDs.

Hi everyone, i just wanted to know how you measure the distance you would sit from a tube tv? i know there is a thread for plasma's and lcd...does it apply to tubes as well, even thought they are bigger/deeper?
I am thinking of getting a sony 27 inch tube tv...the distance from the tv to the couch is about 8 feet...is this a good size tv? thanks

The following thread is not specific to Plasmas or LCDs:

I used to comfortably sit 6' from my 27" SDTV when I had it, but it does depend on the person - as you can see from the "poll" in the above thread.
