The past week I have noticed that sometimes the video will black out (still have audio) for a few seconds on various channels, anyone else had this issue?

Yup, curious you mention it. We're pretty new to TTV here. Has been fine for several weeks now (since early Sept) but started getting drop-outs both video & audio, off for a second or wo then back again. It seemed to start after I moved the SA set-top box inside a stereo cabinet, re-cabled and rebooted the unit. Then noticed the drop-outs. Also found the box was getting pretty warm inside the enclsoed cabinet space and thought that might be an issue. Called TTV, they said no problems had been reported on the network side. They suggested try moving the box to a cooler spot and see if that helps.

An update - relocated the SA STB and reconnected & rebooted the unit - HD has been good since then. Problem might have been temperature or a loose connection, not sure though.

My box has freezed several times this week, getting rather annoying. Each time had to call and have them reboot from there end.

Hey Stumpy do you happen to have a LCD tv near your box? If you do change your "backlight" setting on your tv to a higher setting likely your freezing woes will go away!

Our SA box video and sound started cutting out again last night. Checked all the cables today and rebooted everything from the modem down to the SA STB. Seems better now but still seeing the occasional glitch. I'm not sure the backlighting has anything to do with it. Both the HDMI video and optical audio are affected. I think it's in the STB, my suspicion a thermal bug.

I do have an LCD tv but they have been hooked up since late last year with no problems at all until the past month. The tv is not close at all. Maybe it the older box I have from them, called them and someone should be here to check it out.

Update from a TELUS TV tech, apparently there is a bug in the SA STB that causes isolated drop-outs on the TosLink output and they're working with SA to fix it. Not sure this explains the video drop-out too but may be related. Seems quite isolated, our SA box has been fine since last report.
