My steelcase Blu Ray from Future shop worked fine in my Panasonic DMP-BD50. What a fantastic disc. PQ and AQ were top notch.

Picked it up today at BB. Although the load time is slower than a lot of my Blu-rays, it loaded and played fine on both my PS3s (40gb and 80gb)

I put it in my PS3 no go, went to FS and they said they've had at least one other returned for the same reason.

Went home and checked for an update for PS3 and there it was, updated PS3 now disk plays fine.

ver.43 I think it was.

Firmware 2.43 was not released for the Iron Man issues. That firmware has been out since September 17th and was released for the Japanese market. That's why it only shows up when you manually check for new firmware....it's of no benefit for North America.

The issues playing it on PS3 have to do with BD Live. If you go into your BD/DVD settings menu change the Internet connection setting to "Confirm" rather than "Allow".

My 80gb which uses a wired connection loaded no problem. My 40gb however that uses a Wi-Fi connection stalled at the loading screen when my settings on both machines were set to "Allow". I changed the 40gb to "Confirm", I then denied the PS3 when it asked to connect to the internet when I booted the Iron Man disc and it played fine.

Watched certain scenes yesterday on my Samsung BDP 1400, played fine.....PQ was a bit disappointing (4/5) but the audio made up for it, it sounded excellent in DDTHD on my system.

BD-Live seems to be pretty poorly designed if they didn't even consider what was going to happen when everyone gets a disk on Tuesday and tries to watch it.
I'd imagine they'll add more capacity in the future but the code should have checked the speed data was coming in and if it was below an acceptable wait time (say 1-2 minutes) it should have warned the viewer that the download was going slow and offering to let them abort the download and proceed to the movie.

I picked up the blu-ray still case from future shop, invited some friends over, beer was at its best with chips, nacios and pop corn on hand, but when I loaded the movie on the PS3

hell broke loose :mad::mad:

movie just loaded but only a circle was displayed, checked the special feature worked ok, so that calmed the crowd, then I found out on the internet that I had to play the movie without downloading the bd live.

So then I loaded the movie and voila movie finally displayed.

Great PQ, home theater at its best:), but cost me more beer.

Maybe they should have put a note about this issue on PS3.

Worked fine for me on PS3. PQ was the best I've seen yet on Blu-Ray.

...turns out the BD-Live servers weren't ready for the volume of traffic that the BD-Live features on the IM disc would bring their way.

At least that's the way they're spinning it.

Looking forward to picking this one up today.

I have an 80 gig playstation 3, and iron man will not play at all on it. This is with bd live enable or disabled. I'm on my second disk from amazon. My disk loads up fine, but after that it just sits at a black screen. i have let it sit for an hour, nothing. if i hit one of the button, i get this opertion is not available here.

Have read on this site, that Samsung Player won't play the new Iron Man BluRay. Well guess Sony won't play it either. I thought the disk was faulty so took it back to Wal=Mart and stood in huge line to exchange it. Brought it home and same problem.
If you want to watch the movie I found the only way was to go to scene's feature and start the Movie from the first scene.
It does take a minute or so for the scenes option to work, but be patiance it will come up.
Thanks for everyone's input on this, as I thought it was just me, and my player or copy.

Irom man played just fine on Both my Samsung players.
BD-P1500 had 1 error, it paused for almost 2 seconds at the beginning of one chapter about 1/2 way through, and continued by itself.
BD-p1400 was flawless.
Both have the latest firmware updates.

Movie was pretty enjoyable, but then i've always liked comic book heroes. :)

Tested Iron Man on my friend's BD-P1500 last night with the latest firmware, but not connected to the net. We just flipped through chapters since his TV and BD are only about a week old, so it was more like showcasing the material than anything else. No issues with Iron Man, but had quite a few with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which we watched in its entirety.

Watched it last night, but the only audio I could get was Pro-Logic. My AVR is a 2002 Yamaha, You'd think I could get at least 5:1 from the disc. I've read this thread and can be slow on the uptake. Was this due to my PS3 setting or will my receiver not play TrueHD. If the latter and if this will be the trend for BD, then wifey isn't going to let me buy anymore!

Post script

Turns out it was my BD audio settings. They weren't set to Bitstream.
