I'm looking to assemble/builid a decent home theater soon, and am looking for some advice here (as I've never done this before). I have reviewed several threads, but still have a couple of questions.

I currently have a projector and screen that I'm wanting to use. If I were to ceiling-mount it, would I have to tear down a bunch of drywall in order to route cables and such or is there another (simpler) way? The basement is already developed, but sadly it wasn't done with an HT setup in mind, so there are no pre-existing cable runs.

If it would be worthwhile to rebuild, I'm curious as to an approximation of what I can expect to spend on such a project. I'd mostly be doing this for cable routing (soundproofing isn't a requirement as I don't intend to be cranking my system up extremely loud).

It would really depend on the layout of your room, what type of ceiling you have and just how "clean" the install has to be.

Do you HAVE to celing mount?Maybe you do if its a big room depending on seating and screen size.

I have my projector shelf mounted on the back wall 14 feet from the screen. No need to run any wires through walls.

You would need to run 2 wires to the projector probaly. An HDMI and a power cable. Neither are overly large so its POSSIBLE you could run them cover them with those vinal conduits and then paint over the conduit and have only minor finish issues.

If you haven't already do so, take a look at this thread (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=53614), which discusses various ways of running cable/conduit over drywall. If done properly, it can look quite acceptable, and it will cost considerably less than tearing up your drywall.
