At $600, the price is right for a 1 tuner HD-PVR(80gig) but the hard drive is
small for only HD (8-10hrs) content. At least, it's got a firewire for hard drive
but I wonder if you can put any hard drive or buy one from the supplier at a
reasonable price :) .

Now if only BEV could get one out very soon with those spec (low upfront cost
AND real expandibility). You could(?) daisy chain a few firedrive to meet the
needs of the user.

I can understand that I can't just plug it on my computer and copy the file. If
it was possble your sure bet that the film industry would put stop to that.

If a small cable operator can do it at this price, Bev would have trouble to sell
one to us at $1000 unless the drive is a 160 to 250gb+ with 1 tuner. I'm
not talking about the 921(dual tuner, 250gb nice and costing a lot more)

Thank you Compton Cable to show Bev and the others how it's done

Actually when DishNetork has previously shown the PVR921, they have done so with a 250GB hard drive. The cost is around $1000 USD, so BEV will have one expensive box if they ever decide to release it in Canada. Dish Network hasn't yet though.
