Microsoft will be releasing the 2009 Version of Streets and Trips this October.. I just found out that they are offering a free 60 day trial that can be downloaded from the Microsoft download site at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=56ccd694-4df8-4602-abfc-aea24c1dbf45&DisplayLang=en

It's interesting that they are making it available as trialware I guess it represents a shift in marketing strategy.

I've been a fan of S&T for about 6 years now. For around town, I normally use a dash mounted Sony GPS unit. But for long trips I drag out my laptop loaded with Streets and Trips. My 15 inch laptop screen is much easier to read than the the little 4 inch screen I have on my dash unit..

I haven't tried it yet... I'm downloading the 1.14 Gb file as I type out this message... :)

Perhaps it's accurate in Woodlands MB but S&T in our neighborhood(rural BC) has displaced some towns, no street names in our area. Our community is shown about 5 miles away and a different town is shown in our location.
I have sent various emails over a few years. Nothing gets done about it.

Yet my Palm Lifedrive with TomTom software has all the local streets and the towns correct. I am planning on using S&T 2008 with GPS in WA, OR, CA this year and will see if it is actually accurate there.

Bought the S&T 2008 for $60?CDN so I guess you get what you pay for! :)
