hi

i'm a bit of a noob. so i hope that this thread hasn't been over done.

I have done some research on the forum, as well as, some internet searching with regards to sound proofing, so i am trying to narrow down my questions regarding the best way to soundproof the house i'm in.

i have completely gutted the place and had the place re-wired (electrically). I also have almost finished running FT-4 wire for what I am anticipating for (8.1 surround) but i'll run my A/B speakers for a substitute since i have a 6.1 receiver.

what i'm curious about is, what do about sound proofing on a budget? Most thread deal with "in house rooms", at so far as i''ve found.

I did start with getting RF 24 for insulation for the walls(in the bathroom only), even tho i have 2x4 studs and realized that there needs to be space between the drywall and the outside.

i'm not too concerned about the R-24 yet, since i can use it for a layer in the attic. But i'm wondering what would best for my outside walls?

i'm also getting new window, 8 weeks at least right now, which is no big deal considering the shape of the place before the renovations.

I will also have external styrofoam (for this winter) and i'll have siding up next summer (hopefully).

so any ideas as to how to deal with soundproofing a one story bungalo will be greatly appreciated.

if anyone needs pics let me know. i'm on dial up so... even uploading is a bit slow.

but i do have some time.

any help would be great.

thanks in advance.
