I just bought an airport extreme to replace my linkys wireless g router. I followed the setup exactly, installed the software and setup a wireless network. On the network I have the following wireless devices, Imac, PC laptop and a psp, as well as a PS3 connected by an ethernet cable. Upon finishing setup, my Imac could not wirelessly detect the network I created (I used the Imac to create the network with an ethernet cable to the airport as it would not wirelessly detect the airport in the first place), my pc laptop could detect it but would not connect to it, and my psp could detect it but not connect to it. Phoned cogeco (service provider), and they said all was well on their end as they could see the airport was showing connected to their modem. Phoned apple support and went through several steps, the tech was very thoroughrough. He had said he had never come across this issue with an Airport extreme before however after about a half an hour he had me change the wireless radio mode (in Airport Utility) from 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible) to 802.11n (802.11a compatible). This did indeed remedy the issue as the airport began to worked properly. My PC laptop and the Imac could now wirelessly connect to the internet through the network I had created. The tech said that the airport was being interfered with by my baby monitor or telephone (baby monitor on 2.4 and phone on 5.8). However, I don't know if I buy into it. For one my PSP can't find the network as it is wireless g(I assume). The tech also said that several other devices may not be able to connect. The more I think about it, the more I think something is wrong or faulty with the airport. How could my linksys router run flawlessly (for the most part) for the past three years and not be interfered with by the phone or baby monitor? Shouldn't the airport be superior to the Linksy's? Also what good is it if I can't connect to anything using wireless g. Could something be physically wrong or faulty with the airport making it unable to connect with anything using g?
