I'm watching TV and out of nowhere the picture goes and I can't turn the TV back on using the remote or the power button on the TV. The green signal on the bottom right of the bezel is flashing...hmmm...
I've gone over the user manual and couldn't find anything. It's not the sleep timer. Does any of this sound familiar? If so, what did you do to get things working again?

I have the Sharp LC45D40U and while still under warranty it died 6 months in. The power light and the opc light flashed 3 times.
They took it in, took the back off and it worked fine on the bench for a week. After about 2 weeks I got it back and it's been working great since. The tv is starting it's 3rd year in my possession and it's on about 12 hours a day.
Service guy said they could not find anything wrong with it and maybe the wall mount was too tight.
Anyways, with that being said...Good Luck!

I have the 42d72u, and I've been experiencing the same kind of problem for a couple of weeks now.
Powering off (waiting 15-20 seconds) and then holding the two middle buttons (up "vol + down ch" or "up ch + down vol"....can't remember which cause I do them from touch) while pugging the unit back in performs a RESET, which sometimes helps.
I must say that I'm not too happy with Sharp at the moment. I had a choice of a cheap 1080P Westinghouse, or a top of the line Sharp, and the expensive brand name is not paying off at the moment

I called Sharp, gave the details and they sent a man to my house.
Diagnostics were performed (power supply, connections, etc) and at the end (I think) he said the lcd needs to be replaced! Fortunately the tv is seven months old and under warranty...but what if...
