Vizio today introduced its XVT Series of flat panel televisions which includesa 50 inch 1080p plasma panel that features Silicon Optix REON HQV processing.

Vizio claims a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with panel life of 60,000 to 100,000 hours. Like its LCD counterparts, the VP505XVT use SRS Labs' TruSurround XT audio processing and comes with the VUR8 Universal Learning Remote and four HDMI v1.3 inputs.

The 50" Vizio Plasma is expected to ship in July for U.S. $1,700. No word yet on Canadian pricing and availability.

I see it's now even cheaper in the States (like $1200)...wondering if anybody has seen it up in Canada?
