After spending $100 million since 2005 to install hardware at more than 1,100 cellsites in B.C. and Alberta, Telus said today that its customers will now be able to access wireless high speed Internet anywhere they can use a Telus wireless phone in B.C. and Alberta.

The company said that its wireless service now reaches about 95% of all residents in British Columbia and Alberta.

Thanks for this story Hugh. It spiked my curiosity and I now know that Telus Mobility has a wireless internet service. You purchase a USB air card and sign up for an account. Runs at about 100/month for unlimited and the cost of the aircard @400.00. You need 1xEVDO service in your area to get this.

It's an option for those of us who have cell coverage at home but no wired high speed availability.

It's definitely cheaper than what's currently available locally.

This is good news. For those people that are paying for Xplornet or other Satellite services that are much slower in my opinion. Jusst so you know you can get Unlimited INternet access with telus on your phone or aircard for 75.00 a month plus system access fee and taxes. ITs not technically available in BC but if you browse through the Ontario telusmobility.com they have and option for the 75.00 plan. YOu just have to quote it when you call in and they will give it to you. :)
