Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday it is recalling 470,000 Ford Mustangs from the 2005-2008 model years to recalibrate how forcefully the air bag deploys on the front passenger side of the car. (http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/27/news/companies/ford_recalls.ap/index.htm?postversion=2008022712)
Apparently if you end up in the trunk after it deploys, it was too forceful ;)

I wonder if Knight Rider (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=70983) is gonna have to take KITT in...

Hmmm. That's gotta be just about all of them! Fairly large recall.

NOTE: Owners are encouraged to have this recall performed as soon as possible. Until this recall is performed, the vehicle owner can eliminate any real world risk associated with this noncompliance by making certain the front seat passenger wears the safety belt and positions the seat rearward, away from the airbag.
...or have them sit in the back seat. ;)
...and in the event you own a Ford that is not a Mustang:
Update: February 27, 2008 Voluntary Recall Involving Speed Control Deactivation Switch (http://www.ford.com/dynamic/metatags/article-detail/223_important_notice_voluntary_recall_update?view=print)
Ford is conducting a voluntary safety recall involving speed control deactivation switch systems in 9.6 million vehicles.
* The service action involves the installation of a fused wiring harness into the speed control electrical circuit, or the replacement of the deactivation switch if it is found to be leaking. This is a quick repair, and will be performed on vehicles built between 1992 and 2004.
* Ford dealers will provide this service to all affected vehicles at no charge to the customers. Owners of all affected vehicles will be notified by mail.

I'm suprised the recall doesn;t have something to do with the vehicle spontaneously bursting into flames, as Ford's are prone to do...
