I saw someone in another thread mention that TiVo's $150 rebate is applicable in Canada (presumably if it's bought from an American store like WeaKnees) despite it saying it's only for U.S. residents. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Sure, I can confirm. In August, I bought a TiVo for my Dad in Albany, NY. I filed the paperwork and, after one false start, received my rebate cheque in January.

(You may know that Canadians have to register with a bogus Leo, WY city, putting their full Canadian address in the "street address" field. The rebate firm sent my first cheque to Leo, WY.)

So go ahead -- skip those no-rebate Canadian TiVos and get one from the US, and enjoy your $150 US rebate!
