I am in the boonies of northern ontario, and using xplornet high speed. Have never had a problem till now. I have the kabang package or$$$!
My problem is... I have been having problems getting on to the net and email. have called xplornet and all is good with my router!
Problem they say is my computer.
Problem is...
I "sometimes" can't get online! Turn off computer, unplug modem, plug in modem, then reboot. I can then access to the internet, home page is google.ca. as soon as i try to go to another site, Nothing. cant access email, or internet. tonight it is working fine????
Xplornet geek thinks it might be my network settings, but couldnt give me anything else. told me to have my computer serviced.

I am running xp pro, sp2 all updates added, ran numerous virus scans. updated daily anti virus software!

Help Needed!

Could be many things. Could be your router is not responding to DHCP requests, or not giving enough information to your computer to properly handle DNS and routing. Could be you have a flakey network cable. Could be you have a flakey network port. Could be you need to unplug everything from the computer, hold it over you head, shake it, and then try.

When the connection is no working properly, go to a command prompt (type cmd at the RUN menu), and then enter in ipconfig /all and post the results back to us (of course after you save it into a text file, reboot to get back online, and then cut and paste)
