I'm rather confused with my upconverting dvd player. It seems that the picture doesn't center properly on my screen. I have a 42" plasma. The dvd player is set to 16:9 and it's connected via HDMI. I would assume that because the dvd player output is set to 1080i it should fill the entire screen. This is not the case. When watching movies, there's a black vertical bar on the left side of the screen about an inch wide. But when i'm in the dvd menu, it stretches completely and there are no black bars. Has anyone experienced this? Anyway to resolve this?

I think I figured it out. I set my upconverting dvd player to output 480p and it stretches perfectly. I guess it has to do with the type of aspect ratio the dvd is.
