I am almost certain there are no splitters. There are about 10 such cables hanging in my mechanical room ( no ends yet ) coming from every conceivable location in the house so I presume each is self standing ( ie no splitter ) The cable is labled Belden-T 9116R Duobond(R) 75 OHM series 6. Not sure if that's good or bad. Since I only have one tuner hooked up on the 9200 I guess that doesn't help us.

That Belden is RG6 so it is the right type of cable.

I read something about making sure the end connectors are the correct type ? Can that make a difference ? and if so maybe I'll change them if there are higher quality ones out there. I'm sure mine are cheapies.

I like Thomas & Betts "Snap & Seal" brand, they are compression type.

I have used them for years.

i lock on 91 and check 82 no signal I went outside and switched the wires I lock on 82 not 91...
That sounds like it could be a bad cable from the LNB to switch or a bad switch. Are you using the correct inputs on the switch?

Hi folks,

At present I have 2 receivers- a PVr with a dual tuner, and a regular hi def receiver that I made into a pvr with an external hard drive. I have my SW 44 switch done correctly andn am getting in excess of 90% for both 91 and 82. From the sw 44 out to my dual tuners I have 2 feed. The third feed goes to the 2nd receiver and the last out on the SW44 goes to the power inverter on the sw 44. Is there a way to add a third receiver without having to buy another switch. I have a few sw21 switches and something called an sw-21x switch. Will theywork? I also have a high frequency splitter. If someone has a diagram I could follow I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Use the other end of the Power Inserter box, it is made to connect to a receiver.

Well tomorrows the day. Im installing a second SW44. Just to confirm all I need is 2 sw44's & 2 eagle aspen switches. Is this correct?

They do not have to be Eagle Aspen switch's, just that they are a reputable make.

Well install is done but I did have some trouble. First my equipment was

1.Microyal SW44, this is the original SW44 I have been using since 2004.

2.Dish Net SW44,brand new I have 3 of these all I got for free.

3.Two eagle aspen switches.

After I completed install which included running 2 new lines to other rooms I fired it all up and noticed I did not have any signal coming from 91 at all now. After checking all cables & connections I determind that I had a bad eagle aspen switch. Sure enough after I swapped it out(Strangley enough the new one they gave me at the store is a non powered one) I now had great signal on 91 again. Then every odd transponder on 82 coming from the old Microyal SW44 was dead or very low(48-52), luckely I have 2 more Dish Net SW44's so I then swapped out my old SW44 for a second Dish Net one and it all worked. I ran check switch's on all my receivers and they all passed now. The guy at the store was telling me that my old SW44 must have just went bad, I told him I can't see how that could happen as it was working fine just before I did this. Im thinking more likely that the two Microyal & Dish Net switches maybe aren't compatible with each other? Anyhow its all done and all working now.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to hook up an old 3100 Bell receiver and a brand new Bell PVR HD 9241 to a switch box SW44 and to the dual LNB satellite dish. PLEASE be very technical. Cannot get a signal at all. Already pointed the dish and had a signal until we hooked the PVR up. HELP

If your set up is what i think it is (like mine) using Dual LNB you need the following:

You should have 4 lines coming from the dish. 2 at 91 degrees and 2 at 82 degrees. on the SW44 switch you will see 4 inputs. You need to connect the two 91 degree to the first 2 spots (looks like a white dish) and the 2 82 degree to the the next 2 spots (looks like a black dish).

Then you will see 4 outpus fromt he sw44. Thos 4 outputs are now live for you to connect to your 2 boxes. The first available output fromt he SW44 needs to have the power connected that came witht he sw44 switch. This power can be added anywhere on that line but it must be on that 1 output port only. Run a cable from the sw44 output 1 into the adapter. Connect that adapter to a power supply in your home and then the output of the adapter continue with coax to your box. The other 3 available outputs fromt he SW44 can connect to the remaing box. ( the 9241 uses 2 connections and the 3100 only uses 1). Once this is done make sure you run a check switch in the menu option under installation / point dish and signal.. Once this check is run it should all work assuming your dish is pointed correctly and you are getting a strong signal.

Hope it helps.

Thanks a bunch, PEPPY! It sounds like it will work perfectly. Appreciate the time you took to answer me. :-) Will give it a try and let you know. Thanks again.

Terilynn,

You need to make sure that you set up your dish to receive both satellites before you install the SW44. It sounds like you had the 91 degree satellite already. Have you set up the skew on the dish? You need to look up the skew angle for your area and turn the dish to the correct angle. Once you set up the skew, you need to fine tune your dish to get as strong a signal as you can on the 91 degree satellite. Only then, do you add the second LNB to the dish to get the 82 degree satellite.

Once you do this, you can follow the steps outlined by Peppy.

Appreciate this guys. Had a great 91 strength and a sub-par strength for 82. Will start from scratch and give it another try. Many thanks. :-)

As mentioned lots of times, set the Skew first.
