I've got a Panny TH50PZ700. I'm running component (w/audio) from DVD to the TV. I've also connected the audio PROG OUT from the TV to an analog 2 channel receiver.
If I listen to both the built-in speakers and speakers running off of the receiver at the same time, they are not perfectly in sync. The sound is echoey and "out of focus".
Is there any solution to this? Am I missing something? What is causing latency between the built-in and ext speakers?

The sound is processed differently by the TV and the AVR. If the AVR has an adjustment for "voice sync" or audio delay, you may be able to get them into synch, but it's really appropriate to simply listen to the TV speakers, OR the AVR, not both.

I'm surprised though that the TV would introduce any discernible latency as the audio path going component to the TV and back to the receiver should be all analog.
That's what I find strange and it's what makes me wonder if there is anything I'm missing in the TV menus.
