: Iogear HDMI switch incompatible with Apple TV?

I have an Iogear 4 HDMI switch that I want to use with a Rogers SA8300HD PVR and an Apple TV and feeding a Samsung HL5063W DLP TV.

When I plug just the Rogers box in the switch, the Samsung receives the signal. But when Apple TV gets plugged into the switch as well, the Samsung doesn't receive the signal.

When Apple TV is plugged directly into the Samsung's HDMI input, the signal is fine.

I unplugged the Rogers box from the switch and just plugged the Apple TV into the switch, but there was no signal on the TV.

I guess Apple TV and Iogear don't speak the same brand of HDMI. I'm hoping that getting a HDMI/DVI adapter will allow me to plug my Apple TV into the Samsung.

Before purchasing the Iogear switch I heard XtremeMac HDMI switches were incompatible with Samsung displays. Indeed, XtremeMac confirmed this in an email to me, so I bought the Iogear switch. Wish I'd known it was incompatible with Apple TV!

With the preponderance of switches on the market and the range of incompatibilities I've read online suggest the manufacturers are sending these things out of the gate before the ready. (But then, what else is new?)

Any others with similar problems? Any solutions?

Have you been in touch with Apple.?

That would be my first call.
