Some of the above HD channels are remapped to various locations on the dial according to themes - movies, sports, etc.

The premium tier HD channels require you to subscribe to the equivalent SD channels first - TSN, Discovery, Showcase, NG, etc (or the Digital VIP package, which is almost always a better deal). I believe this is equivalent to the "ultimate" package. The price of the HD "pack" is $9.95/mo. Some of the channels may be on free preview at any time.

At this time, none of the channels in "HD packages" can be ordered a-la-carte.

HD Hardware:

Can be rented from Rogers or purchased from Rogers or their authorized retailers only. You may purchase used from a Rogers Ontario customer in good standing.


STBs: Cisco 4642HD (newest, digital only Tuner), SA4250HD (HDMI), SA3250HD (DVI), SA3100HD (Component Video - very old, do not use if possible)

There are also Pace STB options 550 (DVI), 551 (HDMI), but they can be hard to find and often are problematical.

The SA8000HD (old) SA8300HD, and 8642HD (newest, digital only tuner) DVRs are available. The 8000HD has DVI and the 8300HD/8642HD have HDMI. All have component video - component video cables are supplied with the above.

If you're not on Digital VIP, there is usually a digital services fee of $2.99/mo.
