I'm curious what you think is the best display type for console gaming and why?

Leaving money and future improvements (ie. the technology is going to get better in the future or best bang for the buck is...) out of the eqation.

You can be as detailed as you want. If you have a case for why a Sony XBR4 is the best HDTV for gaming, state your case.

The way I see it, the display types would include...

Microdisplays (lcd, dlp FP)
Front Projector (including dlp, lcd -multi-chip)
LCD panel
Plasma panel
CRT

You can even specify what size, resolution (720/1080P) and distance you recommend sitting if you wish.

I'd like to hear some opinions about today's console gaming on a display.

Sorry Hugh, but I have done several queries on this in your search area. There are a lot of threads with words like HDTV, Gaming, Console, best... It's not as easy a topic as searching on a model number.
