I have a dead remote. I got it with a 2nd hand DCT700 I bought. The DCT was initially sold by Shaw, but I got it with this Grey Motorola branded remote. Is this aftermarket? It worked initially but appears dead now. Will Shaw replace this? If not, how much for a Shaw remote? I was considering programming my receiver's universal, but there's a lot of buttons required. :)

If your DCT700 is registered on your Shaw account, I would just bring in your remote to your local Shaw centre. They should replace it no problems. They did for me when my old remote died.

You can purchase a remote from Shaw as well for $14.95.

Hi all,

My grandmother has a very old SD box (8 years??) with the remote that controls the TV. The remote has been replaced once.

I brought over a new HD box to go with her newer TV for the living room, and got it activated. Seeing as she lost almost all analog channels in the bedroom, I put the old SD box in there, but I can't reprogram the remote to operate the bedroom TV as some of the keypad numbers don't work!

Are they still under warranty? Where can I find a replacement?

Hi Danomac,

You should be able to bring the remote into a Shaw retail outlet and swap it for a new one. If you don't have a Shaw retail outlet close by then contact Shaw and get a Service Call. In most cases they will just replace it no questions asked.

Cheers

Take the old remote to any Shaw office and exchange for a new remote free of charge.
